Year 4 Robots

Year 4 Robots

Year 4 students have created their very own Robots straight from their imagination! From learning basic language skills to writing stories, the students have come a long way. They have each produced an amazing creative writing piece in English class.

Each robot has a number of parts and each part has a specific purpose; from completing homework to saving the earth! Some Robots have 8-10 parts that serve various purposes, and others perform a single task.

The work is displayed for a few more weeks in each year 4 classroom, with a drawing of each robot for you to enjoy.

I am proud of the students who continue to excel at IES Länna!

Student vs. Staff Trivia Competition

Student vs. Staff Trivia Competition

What is the name of the Swede who invented the naming and grouping system of animals and plants?

Which celebrity's real name is Stephani Joanne Angelina Germanotta?

What is the national dish of Scotland?

If you answered Carl von Linné, Lady Gaga, and haggis, you would have done well in our school's recent trivia competition! This week, our student council hosted a student vs. staff trivia competition where teams competed against each other in the categories of Sweden, games and pop culture, Europe, general knowledge, and flags. Both teams did a great job with staff earning 23 points, and students not far behind with 20 points. Nice work to everyone who participated in, and hosted the event!

Reception & Main Entrance Closed Everyday from 16:00

Reception & Main Entrance Closed Everyday from 16:00

Dear Parents & Students,

For your information the reception & main entrance to the school will from today be open from 08:00-16:00 Monday-Friday. This means that if a student is not in an after-school activity, extra class, or Junior Club they will have to leave the school before this time. Also if they are outside playing they need to make sure they have their belongings with them as they will not be able to enter the school again after 16:00. The reception phone line (08-209015) is also open between these times and after this time you can leave a voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

If you have an urgent matter outside of these hours you can contact the teacher/management directly. If you have a meeting booked after this time the staff member who has booked the meeting will meet you at the main entrance.

Kind regards,

Reception

Receptionen

Spring Update from Mrs. Kelly

Spring Update from Mrs. Kelly

Dear parents and guardians,

Thanks for all your support during these past months! We have seen tremendous growth and progress in our students, and it is thanks to your support and positivity at home. We love working with you!

Please continue watching our "Tuesday Talks" on YouTube so you can reinforce the topics and messages we discuss at school. They are usually on one of our four core values: respect, hard work, safety and honesty.

As we end our first year, we begin to plan our second. We will grow from 410 students (13 classes in grades 4-8) to 510 students (16 classes in grades 4-9). We will only add classes in grade 4 with the new students coming in. We will also fill empty places in the other classes, so if you have plans to move or change schools we would appreciate knowing that as soon as possible.

Plans for skolavslutning will also be shared soon so you can plan accordingly.

Please note that I will not be approving leave for students that is over three days. If you have an issue, please contact me directly and we can discuss it.

Lastly, reception will be open from 8.00 to 16.00 each day, and the phone number is: 08-20 90 15.

Thanks for everything you do to support your child. We appreciate it so much. Glad påsk!

"Trick Shot" by 5th Graders!

"Trick Shot" by 5th Graders!

During Ms. Spences-Lee's year 5 choice class, titled "What's Trending?", students have the chance to show, discuss, and participate in what is actually trending. This Friday, students had the opportunity to choose a challenge to record and share. There were several different challenges ranging from environmental to straight up silly - like this one!
